Grimes Ridge

Grimes Ridge () is a high, mostly ice-covered ridge at the north side of Holt Glacier on Bear Peninsula, Walgreen Coast, in Marie Byrd Land. First mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from air photos obtained by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump in January 1947. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Captain E.W. Grimes, a member of the U.S. Army Aviation Detachment that provided Antarctic support during U.S. Navy Operation Deepfreeze 1966.
